An easy and enjoyable horseback riding trail starting from Sofiyskaya Polyana in Arkhyz. The journey begins along the road through the Sofiyskoye Gorge, offering breathtaking mountain landscapes along the way. Further ahead, the trail turns and climbs up a gentle hill leading to a panoramic viewpoint with mesmerising views of the gorge and surrounding nature. At the top, an old, grass-overgrown shepherd’s hut provides a unique backdrop for atmospheric photos. This route is perfectly suited for beginners and first-time mountain riders. Children aged 6–7 and above are welcome (for inexperienced young riders, the horse is tethered to the instructor's horse). Children should be able to sit comfortably in the saddle for about an hour each way. There is a rest stop at the top where you can enjoy a snack and hot tea from your thermos while taking in the views. In summer, we recommend wearing long trousers instead of shorts to avoid saddle chafing. Availability: May to October. Duration: Up to 3 hours. Distance to point: Approx. 3 km.
