About the Tour: Visiting the Caucasian Giant The road to Mount Elbrus is an attraction in itself, passing through the picturesque Baksan Gorge where sheer cliffs alternate with vibrant mountain villages. Along the way, your driver-guide will tell stories about conquering Elbrus, local customs, legends, and poems dedicated to this Caucasian giant. At the foot of the mountain lies the village of Azau, the highest inhabited point in the Elbrus region. From here, the cable car will lift you to breathtaking heights, offering stunning views of the Caucasus Mountains before meeting Mount Elbrus face-to-face. The Emerald Lake Lake Bylym, commonly known as Gizhgit, is steeped in legends. You will discover these tales while sipping freshly brewed coffee prepared by your guide right on the shore. In summer, the surrounding hills bloom with colorful flora and the water turns bright turquoise. In winter, set against snowy shores, the water shines like precious emeralds. A Glade of Healing Waters On the way back, we will stop at Narzan Glade, where you can taste various types of natural mineral water (bring containers if you wish to take some with you). You can also visit the Adyr-Su Gorge, a unique spot with untouched nature and pure mountain air. Note: Visiting the gorge is included in tours starting at 07:00.
